Outreach Coordinator
The Lake Winnipeg Foundation is creating an applicant pool for the position of Outreach Coordinator. This anticipatory position is based out of Winnipeg and includes travel to various Lake Winnipeg communities. The position is 40 hours per week, $13.75/hour, from May 12
 August 29, 2014. This position is contingent on funding.
Reporting to the Communications Director, the responsibilities of the Outreach Coordinator include:
Assist LWF staff & volunteers in the planning, promotion and delivery of LWF
’s signature
Lake-a-thon events: Walk for Water and Golf Fore Water
Prepare and distribute promotional materials, and assist with media relations for summer events
Develop and maintain database of LWF promotional inventory
Respond to general inquiries and provide information as required
Prepare and distribute outreach materials, prizes, etc. for on-site displays at events
Coordinate volunteers and participants before and during events
Attend and represent LWF at relevant shows, conferences and community events, to increase public awareness of LWF initiatives to protect and restore the Lake Winnipeg ecosystem
Interviewing and reporting on in-the-field projects and partnerships for LWF outreach channels
Explore opportunities for additional LWF outreach events in 2014 and beyond
Represent LWF in a manner consistent with the f 
oundation’s mission, vision and values
Write final report on 2014 activities
Other duties as required
The successful applicant will have:
A combination of education/experience in a relevant field (Education; Hospitality & Tourism; Community Services; Community Development; Physical Education; Recreation Management; Environmental Sciences/Studies)
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
Exceptional organizational skills and proven attention to detail
Computer knowledge of Word, Excel, basic social media
