WEST CHESTER -- As several of his former colleagues looked on in the courtroom, former Coatesville police Detective Gerald Pawling entered guilty pleas to multiple counts of theft, forgery, and tampering with records and evidence.
Pawling, who left the force in 2012, admitted that he stole thousands of dollars from two police union bank accounts, and pilfered thousands more from the city police evidence locker room. In all, he pleaded guilty to 113 criminal counts.
He will be sentenced at a later date.
