I am very pleased with the decision of the Supreme Court, announced earlier today in Baguio City, upholding the constitutionality of the Reproductive Health Law. While there may e provisions that have een limited in scope the core of the law remains in tact. I am optimistic that when the law finally sees full implementation, it will e a step towards truly safeguarding the health of our numerous !ilipino women, many of whom have een awaiting this decision and fought for its final passage into law for the last "# years. $he Social Weather Station only yesterday released their study revealing that %&' or % out of "& !ilipinos favor the RH Law. $he release of the Supreme Court decision is thus very timely as well and an indication of our government(s effort to e genuinely responsive to the needs of our people. )*&+
