INTRODUCTION

This Guidebook covers tour itinerary, transportation and accommodation and mapsintended to orientate travelers of the upcoming visit to South Korea.The highlight of the trip is skiing at thescenic Yongpyong Resort inPyongchang-gun, a county in Gangwon-do province where the popular Koreandrama “Winter Sonata” was filmed. YONGPYONG RESORT

Yongpyong Resort is located on the ridge of Mount Balwangsan in Gangwonprovince 700 meters above sea level. With average250cm of snow each year you can enjoy skiing fromNovember until April of the following year. Compared toother ski resorts, ski season is considerably longer. It is215km from Seoul, and with the construction of a 4-lane highway, the travel timehas been shortened to 2 hours.There are 18 slopes and 15 lifts in total, with a 3.7kmlong gondola, which can accommodate 8 people atonce. There are other convenient indoor facilitiessuch as the swimming pool and sauna, and withinthe complex there is a sledding hill, indoor golf course with a capacity of 6 holes, survival game park and the indoor mountain bikepath.There are also the forest bath walk, archery, crocket,tennis courts and the Campsites.
