The Bauer Publishing Group owns Bauer Media, a publishing company; it is Europes largest privately owned publishing group. The Bauer Publishing Group is a worldwide media empire offering over 230 magazines in 15 countries. They also feature heavily online, on TV and a wide range of radio stations. Bauer Media is a multi-media platform UK based media group. The group consists of many sub-brands and companies mainly around two groups Magazines and Radio this is widely recognised and being innovative and industry leaders. On average over 12.4 million people listen to a Bauer media radio station. It owns the number one and four top commercial radio stations in London. Kiss is one of their prestigious radio stations which attracts and is targeted at the young dance audience. They publish Kerrang a rock music magazine. Other publications include Q and Mojo Magazine, which are also multi-channel publications.

Bauer Media Group is a large German publishing company based in Hamburg, which operates in 15 countries worldwide. Since the company was founded in 1875, it has been privately-owned and under management by the Bauer family. It was formerly called Heinrich Bauer. The circulation of Bauer Media Groups magazine titles amounts to 38 million magazines a week.

They are widely recognised and rewarded as being industry innovators. Their business is built on influential media brands with millions of personal relationships with the engaged readers and listeners. Their strategy is to connect audiences with excellent content through broad multi-touch platforms, wherever and whenever and however they want. The wide portfolio of influential brands gives them advantages over competitors

One of the United Kingdom's leading consumer magazine and digital publishers, with a large portfolio selling over 350 million copies each year. IPC Media groups host a lot, with a diverse print and digital portfolio they offer something for everyone, with a focus on three core audiences: men, mass market women and upmarket women. IPC Media publishes a huge range of magazines and websites across many different sectors; Connect (mass of women) Teen Now. Pick Me Up! Chat. Whats On TV. Southbank (up market women) Marie Claire. Look. InStyle. Inspire ( mass of men) Nuts. Horse&Hound. TheField. International Publishing Company also own NME one of the most successful magazines.

IPC then set up a management development department in 1965, to rationalise its holdings, so that its various subsidiaries would no longer be in competition with each other for the same markets. This led to a reorganisation into six divisions:

IPC Newspapers including The Sun and The People IPC Magazines consumer magazines and comics IPC Trade and Technical specialist magazines IPC Books all book publishing IPC Printing all non-newspaper printing operations IPC New Products launching pad for products which used new technology

I chose to go with IPC as a publishing company because there is a gap in their products for mine - a predominantly hip hop music based magazine. They have a wide audience which could easily target mine, young males/females 17- 25. Their audience ranges from about 4245% Male and the rest female.
