Pedagogic Research and Scholarship InstituteMission
 To support the strategic priorities and academic culture of the University through thepromotion and enhancement of pedagogic research and scholarship.
 The Pedagogic Research and Scholarship Institute will seek to enhance those areas of the University’s professional activity associated with pedagogic research (PedR) andthe scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) as identified below in
D'Andrea, V.and Gosling, D. 2005:

 2. The scholarship of teaching includes three essential and integrated elements:
engagement with the scholarly contributions of others on teaching andlearning;
reflection on one’s own teaching practice and the learning of students withinthe context of a particular discipline; and

 To work in collaboration with appropriate areas of the University to:
Support teaching and research links
Provide pump-priming funding for PedR & scholarship, promote andcoordinate funding opportunities, and pursue the Institute’s sustainabilitythrough income generation / grant funding
Encourage external networking and maintain publicly available database of activity and expertise
Organise inter/national conferences, workshops visiting speakers & seminarsand support PedR & scholarship conference participation and publication
Promote and encourage staff to register for
PedR degrees
Publish LATHE and other PedR and scholarship materials
Make public and celebrate achievements
Proposed structure
