The CEA is the European insurance and reinsuranceederation. Through its 33 member bodies — thenational insurance associations — the CEA representsall types o insurance and reinsurance undertakings, eg pan-European companies, monoliners, mutuals and SMEs. The CEA represents undertakings that account or approximately 94% o total European premiumincome. Insurance makes a major contribution to Europe’seconomic growth and development. European insurers generate premium income o €1 100bn, employ morethan one million people and invest over €6 800bn inthe economy.
