Dynamic Wrinkles and Drapery
by Burne Hogarth
Watson-Guptill,1992
PubnsPresents solutions for drawing the clothed figure. Using more than 200 new two-color drawings, Hogarth shows that rendering wrinkles, folds and drapery requires an understanding of how the body moves. He defines the four basic actions: extending, bending, twisting, and rotating, and then explains how each affects the figure anatomically, in turn affecting clothing. An excellent art book on a subject seldom covered in such detail, and an outstanding collection of beautifully rendered, full-page dramatic illustrations, usually featuring costumed and historically accurate subjects.
