Rule 310b – Entry Rules: Entry Close Prior to Last Squad
Revised whereby the number of entries to date, and the high score in eachevent or division of each event, no longer have to be posted, but must bemade available upon request. Also, tournament management is no longerrequired to post a complete current list of entrants. When entries close priorto the last scheduled squad, tournament management shall include in therules the exact time the last squad is scheduled to start and the exact timefor closing of entries.
Rule 313 – Entry Rules: Free or Reduced Entries
Tournament management may offer free or reduced entries without having toidentify this information in the tournament rules. However, an amount equalto the prize fee for such entry must be paid into the tournament prize fundby management.
Rule 315 – Entry Rules: Multiple Participation
This revision allows tournament management the option of determining howmany times an individual can participate and cash in each event. For example,an entrant, in a singles event, by tournament rule, could bowl multiple timesand cash more than once on that prize list. If tournament rules do not stateotherwise, the conditions of Rule 315 with regard to multiple participationapply.
Rule 326a – Tournament Playing Rules: Tie Scores
With this revision, in tournaments other than those with match play orelimination formats, only one game is now required in deciding all ties unlesstournament rules state otherwise. However, under no conditions may theplayoff consist of less than one delivery.
General Playing Rules Revisions:
New Rule 4e – Average Relief
This rule allows a player who has become injured or disabled to request reliefof his/her USBC average by providing the following information to USBCHeadquarters:
A doctor’s certificate describing the:•Disability or injury.•Length of disability or injury.•Reason for downward average adjustment.
