Pressure Vessels, V Piping Systems and Storage Tanks s are the major r installations in n Petroleum Re efineries, Petrochem mical Plants, Oil l Terminals and d other process s plants. They handle variety of fluids, which h may be explo osive, corrosive or o toxic in natur re. The equipm ments are also subjected s to hig gh pressures and a temperatur res. All these fa actors may cause e corrosion and d other damage es to the vital equipments. sion may cause e thinning, pittin ng or cracking of o vessel walls. The internal pressure p will te end to burst the e The corros vessels or piping at the co orroded locatio ons, releasing the t explosive or o toxic contents resulting in serious nces to the plan nt, personnel and the people at large. It is th herefore essential that during the planned consequen shutdowns s, the degradati ion and damag ges inflicted to the t Plant Equip pment, Piping and a Tanks should be monitor red and evalua ated so as to ar rrive at the 3R decisions. i.e. Run-Repair-Re eplace decision ns. c describ be the essentia als of what to in nspect, where to t inspect, how w much to inspe ect More specifically, these courses o accept so as to evaluate the e safety and mechanical m integ grity of in-service equipments s. The courses also and what to cover meth hods of repair, alteration, re-ra ating and repla acements of aff fected equipme ents.

Course Objectives O
The API Co ourses provide e the participants the guideline es and method dology of carrying out inspecti ion of in-service e equipments s. It also provid des techniques s for the assess sment of the we ear and tear of f the equipmen nts as well as to o measure de-gradation an nd damages caused to the pro ocess equipme ents due to the process condit tions. ssment indicate es that the equ uipment is safe to run, the par rticipants are fu urther taught ho ow to estimate the If the asses safe remaining life and th he methods to extend e the useful life of the eq quipments. sion is that the equipment nee eds repair, the course teaches s the participan nts, how to carry out such rep pairs If the decis of the damaged part witho out causing da amage to the whole w equipmen nt. It also cover rs the methods of re-rating the e al integrity if it is s not possible to t restore the equipment e to its original desig gn equipment by evaluating the mechanica conditions.

Benefits of API Courses

Upon completion of this course, attendees will be able to:
1. Apply the requirements of the relevant industry standards and practices to the maintenance of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems, and storage tanks.
