For more than 10 years, America SCORES has been providing a\ue000ter-school programs
that inspire and empower youth to be success\ue000ul, in the classroom, on the soccer feld,
and in the community. In 1999, we launched as a national organization, capitalizing
on the success o\ue000 DC SCORES. Back then, we served 1,000 kids in three cities. Today,
DC SCORES is the largest a\ue000ter-school program serving the public schools in the District,
and America SCORES serves more than 6,000 students in 14 cities nationwide.

Along the way, we\u2019ve reached many milestones. Throughout this year\u2019s Annual Report we have highlighted what we \ue000eel are our top 10 accomplishments. Our poet-athletes, however, have achieved even more, which is what makes us most proud.

Antuan is just one shining example. A member o\ue000 the frst team in Chicago, he o\ue000ten
struggled to manage his anger stemming \ue000rom the loss o\ue000 his mother. This signifcantly
impacted his motivation and success in school. Antuan excelled in America SCORES.
Writing enabled him to cope with his loss; joining a team built \ue000riendships and gave him
a sense o\ue000 belonging. Antuan attended an elite high school and is now a sophomore
in college. He also volunteers as an America SCORES soccer coach in Chicago,
mentoring kids at the elementary school he attended.
