Sell Home Fast– Get the Basics Right FirstIt seems that once the decision has been made to sell a home, most owners want tosell their home as fast as possible. However, it is important to recognize that if youdon't get the basics right in the first place, you certainly won't sell your home fastand you may not sell it at all !So, what are the basics you have to get right first? As you will see, most of these are just good common sense, but as we have allexperienced from time to time, knowing something and actually putting thatknowledge to work are often two very different things. So, to help transition youfrom knowledge to action, here is a brief list of the basic things you simply must doto sell your home fast.First: Adjust your Frame of MindPut yourself in the buyers' shoes. Your potential buyers are considering a purchasethat will cost a lot of money and they will have to live with their purchase every dayfor a long time to come. Before deciding to buy your house, they need to see, hear, and feel beauty, comfort, and an attractive lifestyle with every step as theyapproach and tour your home.Second: Maintain and/or Improve the Exterior of your HomeBefore a buyer will even give your home a chance, they have to be attractedenough by the exterior to get them to walk through the door. If they can't see thehouse hidden behind overgrown shrubs or if the yard is littered with kids toys, engine blocks, and the like, potential buyers won't give your house a second look.If those items are taken care of, look for the next layer. Trimming trees and bushes, weeding around the foundation, and keeping the lawn neatly cut will do a great dealto draw people into the house. Third: De-Clutter the InteriorOnce inside your home, this is where potential buyers will really start to cast acritical eye. Removing the clutter is often the most difficult part of preparing ahome for sale because we all have emotional attachments to our 'stuff.' Naturally, however, potential buyers have no such attachment. If buyers are looking at allyour 'stuff,' they aren't seeing your house and an hour later they may not evenremember how many bedrooms and bathrooms there were! So, roll up yoursleeves, remember that the goal is to sell the house – not the stuff – and clear outyour 'stuff' so buyers can really see your home!Fourth: Clean Up
