Statement on New Intake Procedures for Homeless Families

We continue to be encouraged by the focus of the de Blasio Administration on the impact homelessness policies have on the families and, in particular, the children it serves. Today's announcement by the Department of Homeless Services and Public Advocate Letitia ames about changes to family intake procedures shows both a willingness for meaningful collaboration among elected officials and a long-needed new approach to support and stabilize rather than punish and penalize New York's most vulnerable families and children." Statement can be attributed to Ralph da Costa Nunez, President, Institute for Children, Poverty, and Homelessness ### The Institute for Children, Poverty, and Homelessness (ICPH) is a New York City-based think tank focused on the impact of public policies on poor and homeless children.
