He wears standard office clothing: a button up shirt, a tie.MCALISTER (V.O.)*Tell me again.*The office is cramped, crowded. Clutter dominates thedesk, with the only clear spot directly in front of him, * where a notebook lies. The lighting is bright white, *almost blinding. BRUCE looks concerned, as he stares out *the door, into the much darker hallway.*MCALISTER (V.O.) (CONT’D)*Tell me how it begins.*BRUCE’s eyes wander aimlessly. He continues to sit atthe desk unmoving, save for his eyes. BRUCE looks down *at the desk, looking at his notebook. Incomprehensible *notes cover most of the page, ending with the single *legible line; “It never ends”. Next to it sits a pictureof Bruce’s WIFE and BABY.BRUCE (V.O.)I’m at work...and I feel alone. Trapped. *It’s as if there is nothing to live for.His eyes dart back up to look out the door.*INT. PSYCHIATRIST OFFICE - DAY22Two men sit opposite one another, both in lavish leatherchairs. Only the area between them well is lit, where acoffee table sits.DR. MCALISTER, mid 50s, sits opposite BRUCE. MCALISTERis well dressed and well groomed; he gives the appearanceof a highly educated, upper class individual. In his laprests an open folder.*BRUCE is wearing the same outfit as before, except histie is now off and his sleeves are rolled.The two men stare at one another. MCALISTER holds hispen against his lips.MCALISTERWhy does this dream trouble you so much?BRUCE looks wearily at MCALISTER, then away, scanning theroom.
