San Bernardino County Sheriff’sBasic Mountaineering Course
BMC Course 09-10November 21 & 22, January 23 & 24
The Sheriff’s Basic Mountaineering Course is designed to provide a basic knowledgeconcerning the general responsibilities, the skills and abilities, and the equipment needed bysearch and rescue personnel who wish to operate in the winter alpine environment. Thecourse is broken into a classroom session (November 21 & 22) and a field session (January 23& 24).The field session provides practical exercises; scenarios and skills testing that will requirestudents to be fully equipped and prepared to operate in the alpine environment, includingan overnight bivouac.
