Te company o a true Master is upliing to the soul. When you see a wrestler revelling in his strength, younaturally desire to be strong. Similarly, when you areortunate to sit by a Master enrapt in loving thought, you get upli by the radiation in the charged atmos-phere surrounding Him, more than you will get romyears o doing ascetic practices.Maulana Rumi says, “I you are ortunate enough tosit at the eet o a God-realized man or even one-quarter o a day with attention ully absorbed, youwill derive rom that a lie impulse which you willnot get rom doing even one hundred years o de-sireless worship o the Lord.” I there is a re burn-ing somewhere, take a little rom that and derive thebenet o the warmth. Te charging you get in sucha place you cannot get rom reading books. It shouldthen be increased day by day.Tose people who sat at Hazur’s eet (Baba SawanSingh Ji) were most ortunate. Just by being in Hispresence and seeing the lie essence, they experi-enced great bliss. How can they orget that? Onecan say that it is something like the chakor bird whogazes at the moon and does not avert her eyes until, bending backward, her beak rests on the ground. Be-ing thus so enamoured, what would her condition bei the moon disappeared?Tis is an example to remind those who, like moths, enjoyed the sweet company o the Master. o onewho enjoyed such a blessing, this reerence is enoughto bring home the condition o the hearts o thosewho were so ortunate to have a glimpse o Hazur.Even today, through His graciousness, people are be-ing helped. What was His teaching? It was the same as that whichhas been going on or ages past. Whenever peopleorget that teaching, Masters come to revive it. oday the world is again ull o tormented hearts, but wherethere is a demand, the supply will come. Tis is therule o nature. Tere is ood or the hungry and wateror the thirsty. For the literate and illiterate both, the subject o spir-ituality is the same. All have to still the senses, themind, and the intellect, and then realize the truth.Whatever a person’s vocabulary commands, he willin that many words tell what God is, and give dier-ent examples. How can one know when the worldwas made and how – and who made it? Te answeras given is that God made it. When and how can only be known i one goes to Him and asks Him, or Heis the Creator. When we reach Him, our senses willnot be with us, nor will the mind and intellect or thebody. Great knowledge will open up in ront o us,and there will be no need or any questions. Our Hazur always gave the answer, “Come on, broth-ers, why not ask this question o He who created thisworld?” It is a very simple solution. All Masters havegiven similar answers. Kabir Sahib says, “When the juggler perormed his eat, everyone came to see theplay.” God is the controller o all time and space. I we want to see all this, we have to rise as high as He is.A Muslim prophet, Haz Sahib, says, “O heart, riseabove your body-consciousness and transcend intothe beyond; then you will be able to see that whichis your very lie.” Kabir Sahib once said to somelearned people who came to discuss this very sub- ject, “Your mind and mine cannot become one. I say what I have seen, and you say what you have read onpaper.” What a person sees is very clear-cut. So i aman wants to contact the truth, what should he do?He should keep the company o any Master who isalready in contact with the truth.Even in the Gita, Lord Krishna said that i you arein search o knowledge, then go to such a Master

who is one with God inside. Ten again He says that, when you go to a God-realized man with all sincer-ity and humility, question Him as much as you like;and when you are satised, take His path and work or it. You should also remember that no true Masterwill impose His will on anyone, but He will developone’s better understanding until the subject has someappeal. For this Path, a chaste lie is very important. I ahouse has no oundation, how long will it stand? Forspirituality, this is most important to guard. Te Ve-das say that with orty drops o ghee (claried butter),one drop o blood is made; and with orty drops o blood, one drop o bone marrow is made; and withorty drops o marrow one drop o semen is made.Just see what a valuable thing it is; the more it is pro-tected, the more lie one will have. Te more indul-gence one has, the nearer to death one will advance,or one indulgence o passion will result in severaldays o damaging eects. What happens to thosepeople who spend day and night in passion? Teirhearts, minds, and physical orms are sick. I the ill-ness in the world is on the increase, it is because o this. People o my age can bear witness that whenwe were small and a baby was born in a amily, i a small child would ask, “Where has it come rom?”the parents would say that somebody had brought
