BRING HOLLYWOOD HOME ASSEMBLY BILL #1780 WILL BE HEARD IN CHAIRMAN IAN CALDERON'S ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE MAY 6TH - GRASSROOTS NON PROFIT FIGHT TO GET ON THE FLOOR OF THE CALIFORNIA ASSEMBLY BEGINS!

Edward James Olmos, Bill Duke, Gerald Wolff, Jerry Heller, Jibreel Wright, Doreen Spicer Dannelly The leadership behind Assembly bill #1780 is the first grassroots leadership of independent producers in the history of runaway production to join in a fight to have their voices heard in Sacramento. "You don't see these independent producers in California except on the movie and TV screens very much anymore because they are always running to catch a plane to some other state or country to make their movies. They haven't had a voice in Sacramento." says Sharon Hardee Jimenez, founder/president of the first 501 C 4 in the history of California's job outsourcing to stand up and fight to get independents out in front. "We have been at the back of the bus for too long and it's time we had our voices heard in the full California Assembly. The fight back against our leadership has been formidable, but, we are passionately committed to our civil rights to have a seat at the table in our California Legislature."

Sharon Hardee Jimenez, President/Founder Bring Hollywood Home Foundation Sunset Marquee September 24th 2013 announcing the launch of the first effort to bring a private California Film Fund to support the state's huge number of independent producers Arts & Entertainment Assembly Members who will decide the fate of AB #1780 May 6th 2014 Chaired by Assembly Member Ian Calderon the Arts & Entertainment Committee will decide if the Assembly Bill sponsored by the grassroots led Bring Hollywood Home Foundation will have any chance of being heard on the floor. Bring Hollywood Home has not been invited to be a part of Assembly Bill #1839 led by the California Film Commission which includes language drafted by lobbyists and special interest lawyers and excludes the inclusive language of AB #1780. DOUBLE REFERRED ASSEMBLY BILL #1780 If the grassroots sponsored bill survives and passes out of the committee Chaired by Assembly Member Ian Calderon, the bill is double referred so it has to pass out of the committee on revenue and tax chaired by the author of the competing bill #1839, Assembly Member Raul Bocanegra. http://arev.assembly.ca.gov/membersstaff "There should be no surprise that independents are forced to work outside of California when the heavy hand of Sacramento lobbyists and special interest lawyers hold so much power over the small and medium sized businesses in the state." says Sharon Hardee Jimenez, president and founder of Bring Hollywood Home. "Even if we try to participate in our democracy through voting and we have no power to lobby against the big special interest lobbyists we have no real voice in our government."
