To install and 5se the s0ste/, 0o5 /5st 6e logged on to 0o5r P2 as an ad/inistrator. The whole installation takes hal( an ho5r to an ho5r, depending on s0ste/ per(or/ance.
Preliminary Remark
The #ini S!P $asis S0ste/ is delivered on two 2+s. The KERNEL CD contains the (iles (or the 7ernel and the 8rontend *S!P)-I1. The DATA CD contains the co/pressed contents o( the S!P data6ase. 9o5 install the co/ponents o( the S!P S0ste/ in two steps. 8irst 0o5 install the application server and the data6ase s0ste/ incl5ding the data6ase data. Then 0o5 install the 8rontend *S!P)-I1. 9o5 onl0 need to install the S!P)-I i( 0o5 do not have a 4.'+ S!P)-I on 0o5r P2. The installation is, (or the /ost part, sel(4explanator0. When 0o5 insert the 7E%NE: 2+ into the 2+ drive, an ;T#: (ile is a5to/aticall0 opened that displa0s a s5//ar0 o( this installation g5ide and re(erences to additional in(or/ation. Insert this 2+ and choose Next. The next step /a0 take a little ti/e. +o not interr5pt this stepG wait 5ntil the installation is (inished. Exit the installation 60 choosing 8xit on the last screen.
!(ter the application server and the data6ase have 6een installed, the Start S$( %&S icon (or starting the S!P S0ste/ appears on the desktop. ! new progra/ gro5p, %ini S$( &asis, contains all the re/aining calls. I( 0o5 ever 5ninstall the S!P S0ste/, onl0 do so 5sing "ninstall S$( %&S in this progra/ gro5p.
I( 0o5 have not 0et installed a 4.'+ S!P)-I on 0o5r P2, 0o5 can do so 5sing the 8RN8L CD. I( 0o5 have an older S!P)-I on 0o5r P2, we reco//end that 0o5 (irst 5ninstall it and then restart the P2.

Start S!P #$S To stop the S!P S0ste/, close the +KS window.
