The apparent exposure of firemen to toxic fumes and vapor coming from the combustion process of both household and industrial sites is a guiding freeway that would point to these vapors as causative agents in various forms of cancer. Dr. Milham's paper comes as a surprise because the intuitive notion would be to consider toxic aerosols as the culprits of the various forms of cancer suffered by firefighters.
