Twenty-Fifth Century storyteller Zook sets off heavily equipped to discover what the world is like outside of his tribe's territory in what used to be Los Angeles. A tribe of women sorceresses decides to teach him their magic. He journeys with Artemis to old San Francisco on a mission to save the civilized tribes from a threat of enslavement by a surviving group of people from our technological time.
