As we all know, ID’ing a race sounds like an easy task but can bedifficult depending on so many factors. We do want to ID a race ina timely fashion while keeping in mind “Would I buy this picture”but we also want to actually be focused on the picture andeveryone in it. Did that runner have a picture before this? Doeshe/she have one after this? Are these runners running together? And making sure we go back and fix partial assignments if we seethe runner’s bib clearly in subsequent frames.I’ve put together some guidelines that everyone should befollowing. I’ve used what we are calling Image ID Zone borders tohelp emphasize the ID’s process. There are examples of theseborders below, we just overlaid them on the actual images and thezones change depending on the race course position. As always, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate tocontact me.

Partial/MF Assignments
These assignments should be less subjective in the IDing process. Before you partiallyassign you should look at the next 3 frames to see if you can see the runners completebib number. Please use the following guidelines:
Do not guess at the bib numbers.
If the bib is not visible you would use M for male and F for female.
If you can only make out the first or last digit of the bib you would use an * in theappropriate spot. (Example: Bib #1234 but you can only see the 1 you would enter1* or if you can only see the 4 you would enter *4)).
If you can only see the middle numbers of a bib it would be wiser to M/F. (Example:Bib #1234 but you can only see 23 you would enter M or F).

Incorrect assignment forframe 30: 63* - We cannotsee the first or last digit of the bib number. Runner willnot find himself under partialassignment on the websitebecause the system will belooking for a bib numberstarting with 63.

Incorrect assignment forframe 33: This is overexposedand should be “X”.Incorrect assignment forframe 38: Man in blue jacketis not assigned (M).Incorrect assignment forframe 1: 36*8 – If you enlargethe picture you can clearlysee the complete bib number= 36089.Incorrect assignment for frame 3:*830 - Cannot see the first digit of thebib number, but know the bib shouldbe 5 digits (you would know this fromthe bib information provided to youvia email before the race is posted).Runner will not find himself underpartial assignment on the website. The system will be looking for a bibnumber ending with 830, but youcannot see if there is a digit after the
