Effect of rupee appreciation on exports of Mens,Boys jeans to USA in 2007

The appreciation of the Rupee against the USD has taken its toll on the exports of all textile and
apparel products from India. There has been a general fall in exports of apparel items across the
board..
The rupee appreciation has affected the exports of Mens and Boys jeans from India to USA.

US imports of Mens/Boys jeans down 6.8% in 2007(Jan-Sept)

The imports of Mens/Boys Jeans into US seems to have slowed down since the second quarter of
this year. The total imports under this category is down by 6.8% .This fall is significant in view
of the boom that Denim was going through.
