Prayer requests:
That our health would bewell.
Committed prayer andfinancial support.
That our relationship withHoly Spirit would deepenand deepen.
That we would pick up thelanguage quickly.
That we would strive tohumbly serve the ministryhere in whatever capacitythey deem necessary.
That our work would havea lasting impact.
A life of missions can be,at times, lonely and full of reminiscing. “Goodbyes”become so commonplaceand it seems like you arealways leaving familyand/or friends. That is theprice many of us pay forserving God on the for-eign field. To me, nowhere on thisearth feels quite like“home”. There are placesI stay for a time, but nonewhere I feel like I actu-ally ‘rest’. Abraham, Isaac, andJacob are truly relativesof those who also live likethis. We all have gone outfrom the comfort of ourdwelling places, in searchof true obedience to God’scalling for our lives. We have confessed thatwe are but aliens on thisplanet, who are ulti-mately searching for theresidence which God willeternally provide for us.I try not to think of home,my friends, my family toomuch, because I might betempted to give foreignmissions up and return. As it is though, We desirea heavenly residence. Thewriter of Hebrews saysthat because of this, Godis not ashamed to becalled our God, and thatHe has prepared some-thing great for us.There is great sacrificeinvolved in a life of for-eign missions, and I sup-pose, that is why the re-ward is so great. We maynot all be called to cometo Cambodia, but wesurely can all play a partin seeing the Great Com-mission fulfilled. In the words of JohnPiper, “Go, send, or dis-obey”.

All these people died still believing what God had promised them. They did not receive what waspromised, but they saw it all from a distance and welcomed it. They agreed that they were foreignersand nomads here on earth.
14
Obviously people who say such things are looking forward to a countrythey can call their own.
15
If they had longed for the country they came from, they could have goneback.
16
But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is notashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
(Hebrews 11:13-16 NLT)
