The Church of Jesus Christ shall witness the Antichrist's stand in the ThirdTemple, according to 2 Thessalonians 2. That event will precipitate the finalthree-and-a-half years of Daniel's seventieth week. Why say that? Well, let uslook at those verses from 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4: Now we beseech you, brethren, bythe coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, Thatye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, norby letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive youby any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exaltethhimself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as Godsitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Let us examine nowwhat had been said. In those verses, Paul addressed these following subjects: Thecoming of the Lord Jesus Christ or gathering unto him called the firstresurrection by some or rapture by many. It shall not come until these thingsfirst happen. That there comes a great falling away, a man of sin revealed whoexalts himself above all, and sits on the third and final temple showing that heis God himself. One can one conclude by these words of Paul? The firstresurrection or rapture if you wish, will not take place until there is thefollowing events that already took place prior to it. There shall be a greatfalling away, the man of sin is revealed (Antichrist) and stands in the last ofthird temple. So we will conclude that the church (not a building but a body ofbelievers who are faithful unto the name and Godship of Jesus in all things, SeeColossians 2:9, 3:15-17, Matthew 3:12-17, 28:18 and Acts 2:38, 4:12) theAntichrist, the third temple built, and the Abomination of Desolation. Daniel 9:27And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of theweek he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for theoverspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until theconsummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Today, we seethat all these things are the start of sorrows which shall come to pass upon thisearth because of the hardness of hearts of the people who dwell upon it. Jesussaid these words. Matthew 24: 8-15 All these are the beginning of sorrows. Thenshall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall behated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, andshall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophetsshall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love ofmany shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall besaved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for awitness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. When ye therefore shall seethe abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holyplace, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Here is the meaning of that term. Inboth Biblical and rabbinical Hebrew abomination is a familiar term for an idol.Which is anything except God almighty to be set there at that Temple to beworshipped. Daniel, Ezra, and Jesus all refer to a appalling abomination or anintentional perversion made at the temple. Such as what happened before when thedesecration of the temple (In the time of the Maccabees's of 167 B.C. which inHebrew, means "hammer") was completed through the erection of a Zeus statue in itssacred precincts by Antiochus IV Epiphanes. Finally, let us conclude with Mark'sversion of the events to happen, perhaps will shed some comfort us in some way aswe see time shortened to spare the elect of God. Mark 13:10-20 And the gospel mustfirst be published among all nations. But when they shall lead you, and deliveryou up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate:but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not yethat speak, but the Holy Ghost. Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, andshall cause them to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for myname's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Butwhen ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that

Oh, when the saints go marching in Oh, when the saints go marching in Oh, how I want to be in that number When the saints go marching in Oh, when the saints come marching in Oh, when the saints come marching in Oh yes, I want to be in that number When the saints go marching in

One Catholic Church father thought and wrote of this same concept as is written here. Polycarp talked with John the Apostle, and was his disciple. He was bishop of the church at Smyrna, so maybe the letter that John wrote to the church of Smyrna in Revelation 2:8, is to Polycarp or has special meaning to him. Polycarp also was martyred in Smyrna. His student (Irenaeus) wrote thie following note: Irenaeus wrote " Against Heresies" refuting the false doctrines that were creeping into the church. In one place, Irenaeus wrote, "And for this cause tribulation is necessary for those who are saved, that having been after a manner broken up, and rendered fine, and sprinkled over by the patience of the word of God, and set on fire [ for purification ] they may be fitted for the royal banquet". When speaking about the tribulation of Matthew 24, he says, "FOR THIS IS THE LAST CONTEST OF THE RIGHTEOUS, IN WHICH, WHEN THEY OVERCOME, THEY ARE CROWNED WITH INCORRUPTION". Irenaeus lived from A.D. 120-202.
