AEFIDAVIT IN SUPPORT OF SEARCH WARRANT.
Gregory Floyd moved into Easton around the first of this
year but first cane to my attention in mid to late April when the
New Hampshire State Police came to my house and asked what I knew
of him.
Bia son vas attending Lafayette Elementary School and there
was a problem over which Mr. Floyd became irrationally abusive -
to the point the administration was concerned he might return and
do something. Becat
of the administration's concern they
notified the state Police.
He next came to my attention on April 29, 1997; 1 received a
call from the counselor at Lafayette Regional saying th
concern for the safety of the Floyd child. we expr
joa uncer~
tainty whether he should notify DCYS because he'd received a
report Gragory Floyd had been shooting and bullets had hit the
house (shown on the attached map) of Mr. and Mrs. Boisvert at 112
Hunmingbird Lane. 1 would estimate the Boievert house to be 400
feet from the Floyd house and would classify the intervening
distance as moderately to heavily wooded.
‘That same day I visited Mr. and Mre. Boievert. They related
they had not reported the incident because they vere trying to be
good neighbors but did indicate Gregory Floyd seemed strange and
there was more to him than met the eye. They downplayed the
incident however, said they only heard one, possibly two bullets
hit somewhere around their house and that Mr. Floyd had apolo~ovre
gized and told them he didn't realize their house was so clos
his. Tt was my opinion they were more than nervous about Mr.
Floyd's presence in the neighborhood.
xX then drove to the Floyd house and Hrs, Floyd met me at the
door} Mr. Floyd was not home. she did not invite me in. 1
talked with her for about five minutes but observed nothing that
would indicate the Ployd child was in danger. 1 later called the
counselor at Lafayette Blementary and reported what T saw. At
this point 1 let the matter rest.
Early during the week of May 12, 1 received a visit at ay
hone fron Betty and Maurice Rodrique who reside at 53 Bumingbird
ane and are the closest neighbor to Gregory Floyd; there was
fear in their expressions. ‘They related Gregory Floyd had been
shooting in the past and Mra. Rodrique told me it sounded 1tke he
had an automatic veapon. She further related she'd just learned
he had an azrest record for violent behavior. T thanked them for
dropping by and told thea I would gst hack to them.
I requested a record check through Grafton (attached) and
called the chief in Tomsend, Massachusetts where the Floyd's had
previously resided. ‘me Townsend Chief could shed no light on
nother Kr. Floyd had automatic weapons but did indicate Mr.
Floyd was capable of irrational behavior end to be careful on
raking any approach.
T contacted the Lovell Court and the Chelneford, Hess.
Police Departnent (see attached criminal record) but they were
unable to find the records on Mr. Floyd.
on Friday, may 16, T visited first mr. and ure, Rodrique,
‘then Mr. and Mrs. Bo:
wort, specifically to narrow the issue
218oon
whether Mr. Ployd hae an automatic weapon. At this point they
all seemed uniformly afraid of Mr. Floyd - to the dagree that
their £
1x now overrode their wish to be a good neighbor; they
‘talked openly.
‘the Rodriques told me they have heard Mr. Floyd shoot on
three occasions, all at night.
‘The first occasion was late January to early February, about
9:30 at night. ‘There were two individual shots thet sounded 1ike
large caliber. Mr. Floyd told the Rodrigu
that he was scaring
bears so his child could sleep. Both the Rodriques heard the
shots.
‘The second occasion was about six weeks ago; only Hrs Ro-
drique heard them; her husband was asleep as it was close to
midnight. She related she heard a burst of about fifteen shots -
a burst that sounded Like an automatic weapon. she said she is
not @ gun woman but has on cccasion fired she did not feel you
could pull the trigger thet fast. she further related that the
shots cane so fast to each other they could not be counted indi~
She reported the sound was like automatic weapons in
or television.
‘The third occasion was thr
weeks ago, about 9 o'clock at
night, three individual rounds of what sounded Like heavy cali-~
ber; both Mr. and Mrs. Rodrigue heard these. Both Mr. and Mrs.
Rodrique indicated neither Mr. Floyd or his wife work and Mr.
Floyd gets excited to the point it becomes hard to understand his
speech, takes medication, and exhibits paranoid behavior. they
mentioned Mr. Floyd recently started to put a locked chain across
his driveway and kept it locked whether he was there or not.
