When the Ministry of the Interior decree on escape route marking and lighting came into
force in January 2006, also the European standards concerning emergency lighting took
effect. In the final year project all the essential regulations that concerns electrical
engineering were examined. An objective in this project was to examine the effects of new
regulations on the price relations of different system design types and what kind of system
would be the most favorable to apply in upcoming projects that are similar the case study
used in this final year project.

Four alternative emergency lighting system designs were planned for the case study.
According to the plans that were made, investment costs were calculated. An emergency
lighting system being a long-term investment, also lifecycle costs of each system were
approximated. The lifecycle period was chosen to be 20 years.

According to the results, the most favorable system design type was the central battery
system. Due to the simplifications in calculations it is still uncertain if it is profitable to
invest in an addressed self-testing system. The most valuable results of this project were
the planning-aid tools that were created. These tools facilitate and speed up the planning
of emergency lighting system in the future.

Työssä tutustuttiin turvavalaistusta koskeviin määräyksiin, jotkaolennaisesti vaikuttavat rakennusten sähkösuunnitelmien laatimiseen. Tavoitteena olimyös tutkia, miten määräykset ovat vaikuttaneet eri järjestelmätyyppien hintasuhteisiin jamitä toteutustapaa kannattaisi suosia jatkossa työssä käytettyä esimerkkikohdettavastaavissa rakennuksissa.Käytettyyn esimerkkikohteeseen laadittiin vaihtoehtoiset suunnitelmat neljälle eri tyypinturvavalaistusjärjestelmälle. Tehtyjen suunnitelmien perusteella laskettiinalkuinvestointikustannukset kullekin järjestelmätyypille. Turvavalaistusjärjestelmänollessa pitkäikäinen investointi laskettiin kaikille järjestelmille myös 20 vuotta kestävänelinkaaren kustannukset.Tutkimuskohteesta saatujen tulosten perusteella parhaaksi toteutusvaihtoehdoksiosoittautui keskusakustojärjestelmä. Laskennassa tehtyjen yksinkertaistuksien takia onkuitenkin epävarmaa, kannattaako osoitteelliseen järjestelmään investoida. Työntärkeimpinä tuloksina voidaankin pitää suunnittelua helpottamaan luotuja työkalut, joidenavulla turvavalaistusjärjestelmän suunnittelu sujuu jatkossa nopeammin.Hakusanat turvavalaistus, lamput, elinkaarikustannukset
