"It's a Woman's World" by Eavan Boland is a poem encouraging women toembrace their strengths.
Eavan Boland expressed the static nature of a female’s role insociety. Boland desires for women to awaken to theirpassion for equality in intelligence, respect, and love.

Boland also compares the woman of today tohistorical females. Boland states how “like most historic peoples we are defined bywhat we forget,” and also describes how while the men were out hunting, the womanwere slaving in the kitchen making bread and soup. In addition to details andcomparisons the poignant device that conveys Boland’s views is her drawing parallels between male and females jobs. Boland states that woman will never be fire-eaters because it’s too rigorous, but at the end of the poem Boland shows how one of hefriends has a “burning plume.”
Accordingly, the fire imagery exemplified in the flame that burns greedily andthe fire-eaters symbolize the passion for equality within women and their potential
