Mission for this year is to build capacitywithin CEA.

: Erica Gargol, NEA Rep: Benefits/Financial Planning, isavailable for members. Mike Weaver, AEA Rep.

State of the Arizona Budget
: As state budget cuts increase, the fundingcontinues to decrease. Site Fund money was cut at each campus. The districthas shifted funding around so that they could keep Pay for Performance. Thelegislators continue to propose cuts and are trying to get votes to pass thebudget, but are having difficulty getting them. Many items are on thechopping block… There are also many items listed within these proposals,such as changing the requirements for reduction in force, teacher contractdeadlines, usage of substitutes, career ladder, etc. Thank Jay Tibshraeny andCarolyn Allen by email for voting against their party in order to supporteducation. There is still time to exert pressure to send messages to thegovernor and legislators.

Need to increase CEA membership in order to continue being a strong voice!We have 10 schools without representation at this time.

Membership Plan:
AEA has helped us come up with a plan in order to trainCEA site reps in a convenient way, in order to become better, effectiverepresentatives who are able to help other members.
There will be WebSeminars in order to train site reps
. On the 1

and 3
rd
of September,there will be a 45-minute, online seminars available. This session will teachyou how to do JUST ONE THING, or be as involved as you like! You cancomplete the seminar at school or at home!
