 NOTE:
If the sequence of thinking that follows allows you to find points of resonance in your own life (past, present, and future),then it will have fulfilled its purpose. If you are able to apply these points of resonant knowledge and moments of resonant experienceto uncover maximum potential and maximum function in your unique creative expression, no further technology will be necessary.
THE POWER OF RESONANCE
In every human being, regardless of background or placeof origin, there are moments of time when a powerful built-inmechanism of the human mind
1
comes into action that leadsto a state of optimal experience. This mechanism is called
resonance
-- it is central to every other concept in theframework that is about to be revealed.During moments of resonance, a person is markedlypresent, possesses maximal use of his or her facilities, experiences a temporary dissolution of concerns and worries, benefits from an almost complete dissolving of the ego, andis maximally enjoying whatever he or she is doing. A mindoperating in resonance functions at a higher energy level;therefore, a mind in resonance generates more power, andtherefore more value for itself and for others.Resonance arises from a state of fascination with thislife. When resonant, a human feels an inherent richness inthe world, from which follows a certain intrigue that promptshim or her to both explore and take action. It is also anexperience of ‘flow’ or ‘correctness’
2
, where a human feelsmost aligned with purpose and task.
THE ORIGIN OF RESONANCE
"Trust thyself; every heart vibrates to that iron string!"-- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Resonance can be derived from several different lenses, orperspectives, based on different knowledge backgrounds. Referencesto it as a concept are scattered throughout the written texts and wordsuttered from men and women in different walks of life, although theterms for it vary. The choice of the word resonance in this frameworkcomes from the amplified state of consciousness that it describes and

human
consciousness only.

The words "flow" and "optimal experience" may invoke cues toward the work of Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi and his research into optimal states of consciousness, livingan enjoyable life, and an evolving consciousness. Csikszentmihalyi's work created animportant bridge for this work (as did the work of other authors and researchers) andthe states he describes arise naturally through the discovery of resonance (e.g.,
resonance
gives rise to
flow,
but flow does not necessarily give rise to resonance). Thus, the two works have a symbiotic relationship.

has several analogues in the physical world (e.g., resonant structuresin chemistry, resonant frequency of matter, acoustic intensification,etc.).Resonance points to a fundamental characteristic of consciousness, but individuality plays an important role in determiningpoints of resonance. Knowledge and experience are two fundamental-- and highly interrelated -- elements that give rise to the exploration of resonance. These elements illustrate the personalized nature of resonance and how it unfolds in different ways to different individuals.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
"I pored over the books of all the sages from Morienus, Aristotle, and Platodownward, but yet I went wrong, until, by trial and mistakes, I at length discovered thetruth."-- Albertus Magnus
These moments in time, when thepowerful built-in mechanism of resonancecomes into action, are phenomena worthyof deep study. An individual, afterthorough investigation, can recognizeresonance in a series of personal
experiences
that have occurredthroughout his or her life. Furthermore,an individual can find that certain
knowledge
can invoke resonance,at either the moment one learns the knowledge or at the moment oneapplies the knowledge. For knowledge of any form is just experiencecaptured into a transmittable form (on the learning side). Furthermore, knowledge can lead to a series of different experiences when thebearer produces action in the world (on the application side). This relationship between experience and knowledge is crucial toour unfolding framework. Experience gives rise to knowledge andknowledge gives rise to new experiences. When combined withresonance, ordinary knowledge and ordinary experiences take onpowerful qualities. Thus, resonant experience gives rise to resonantknowledge; likewise, resonant knowledge gives rise to resonantexperiences. The evolution of this important resonantknowledge/experience relationship is explored later in the sectiontitled, "Resonant Language".In the framework of our project, the moments of resonantexperience are labeled
"Golden Moments"
. During a Golden Momentall thought activity arising from knowledge appears to cease within thehuman mind, while total focus and awareness are applied, typically viaone or more of the five senses. In fact, knowledge, in this instance, actually
reverses
its typical role: normally knowledge gives rise tothought and/or action, but in a Golden Moment thought activity and

action become still. Thus, it gives the human mind the quiet it needsto absorb this current interaction between human and world bysubtracting all non-resonant information.
3
For a Golden Moment istruly a
conversation
, a dialogue between human and world, and themind must be fully present, attentive, and free of distraction. Thecontent of this conversation is explored elsewhere (see the Deiformingproject). Nevertheless, new knowledge
is
being transferred into thehuman mind, yet it requires the healthy collaboration of past learningto allow clear transmission.

The knowledge that invokes, permits, and advances resonance

in an individual is termed
"Resonant Knowledge"
, whichencapsulates the activity that arises in consciousness from interactionwith the knowledge. Just as Golden Moments stand in sharp contrastto other experiences in a person's life, Resonant Knowledge gives riseto an important, distinctive experience in the individual when theknowledge is learned (acquisition) or when the knowledge is applied(application). When an individual encounters Resonant Knowledge(i.e., knowledge that causes resonance in him/her) in the learningstage, it is easy to recognize by the temporary pause in the stream of consciousness as resonance sets in, just like in a Golden Moment.
6
When an
experience that invokes resonance
(a Golden Moment)occurs, if the individual has a way to capture the experience into atransmittable form (other terms for this act are “encoded”,“collapsed”, “distilled”) for easy retrieval and subsequent use, it will beof high value to the individual and it is probable it will be of value toothers. The transmittable form becomes
knowledge
and the form ittakes is highly significant.

RESONANT LANGUAGE
"A scientist worthy of his name, above all a mathematician, experiences inhis work the same impression as an artist; his pleasure is as great and of the same nature."-- Henri Poincaire
3
This is known as the
Meaningful Pause
. This and other important elements of Golden Moments are explored elsewhere.
4
Advanced techniques in the recognition, uncovering, and use of Golden Moments forthe benefit of the individual and of society is the domain of the
Deiforming
project, the work of co-author Christopher Galtenberg.
5
Knowledge invoking resonance in an individual is a complex topic that is exploredelsewhere. A theoretical scientific framework gives application to this importantevent and leads to a new theory of creativity and innovation.
6
Advanced techniques for recognition, modification, transformation, and applicationof Resonant Knowledge are the domain of
Static Pattern Engineering
, work doneby co-author Joel Kotarski.
7
This is about to be explored but must be noted now: The transmittable form anexperience takes is
completely influenced
by the knowledge a person possesses. Forinstance: the native language of the person is knowledge that is used to express theexperience.
