NEWS MEDIA RELEASEOn October 04th, 2009 at approximately 2:01 A.M.the Sac City Police Department was called to Lor-ing Hospital for a report of a rape. The police de- partment was informed that a 12 year old juvenilefemale came to the hospital for medical attention af-ter she had been raped. The police department con-ducted a lengthy investigation into the incident. Theinvestigation determined that a sex act occurred atthe 12 year old victim’s residence in Sac City. It wasdetermined that sexual contact did occur betweenthe victim and a 16 year old juvenile male from Car-roll, Iowa. The 16 year old juvenile male has beencharged with Sexual Abuse In The Third Degree andreferred to the Sac County Juvenile Court Services.Sexual Abuse In The Third Degree is a class “C”felony. Evidence obtained in the investigation has been sent to the Iowa DCI Crime Lab for analysis
and additional charges may be led pending the re

The following bill was presented to theSac City Council by the Region XII Coun-cil of Governments for the cost of work completed on the Sac City Housing RehabProgram. There are three different proper-ties to which this amount will be applied.Of those three properties, two are consid-ered rehabilitated and one still needs morework.According to information put out at themeeting two other properties are still in the beginning stagesThe Sac City Council approved paying the bill on October 26, 2009 utilizing a Com-munity Development Block Grant for thefull amount.
