We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday with their families. The stu-dents denitely came back recharged and excited to see their friends. Can you believe that only six weeks remain in the 2013
2014 school year? It’s sure to whiz by in the blink of an eye!
Next week we welcome Dr. Virginia Rojas back to school to work with teachers on supporng English language development for non
nave speakers. She will be planning and co
teaching in classrooms to model best pracces. We are ex-cited for her return and look forward to the engaging professional conversaons that are sure to abound. On Tuesday, April 29 from 7:30 – 9:00 A.M. she will be leading a parent session on supporng language development. If you are inter-ested, please plan to aend.
A copy of your child’s MAP test results will be sent home with your child next week. As you review the results, please keep in mind that the results are one of several snapshots of your child’s progress and level of achievement. If you have any quesons or concerns, please feel free to contact your child’s guidance counselor or teacher. If you do not receive the leer and test results, please contact the Middle School Guidance Oce at 840
Looking ahead…The Middle School Play is just around the corner. The show will open on Friday, May 9 with performances on May 10. Stay tuned for more de-tails! Also, on Thursday, May 15 we will be hosng a Parent Coee in the Lile Theater from 7:45 – 9:00 A.M. For the February Parent Coee, we had adver-sed that we would speak to the progress made on one of the school
wide goals which focuses on assessment and grading. Regreably at that me, we had to table the discussion and were sorry for disappoinng parents who were keen to hear more. Since February, the Assessment Commiee has met numerous mes and is now at a stage to share its progress. During the Parent Coee we will dis-cuss new grading pracces that we intend to implement next school year. If you are interested in hearing more, please mark your calendars. Please note that Thursday, May 1 is a holiday and school will be closed. Classes are back in session on Friday, May 2. Have a wonderful weekend!
