CANYON VIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!

APRIL 25,2014 CANYON VIEWS A+ SCHOOL DRIVEN BY CHILDRENS NEEDS

Dear Canyon View Families, Testing week is behind us and I want to thank everyone for ensuring that your child arrived at school on time and was prepared to do their best. Testing week always serves as a reminder that the school year is quickly coming to an end, and its hard to believe that we only have 18 school days left in the year! Today, Canyon View parents received a request to complete the annual Spring Survey. The purpose of this anonymous survey is to collect feedback from our families on the topics of communication and the school environment. The data collected from this important survey will be analyzed and shared with various stakeholders so that we can continue to improve the educational experience for our students and their families. A high participation rate by parents will give us more complete and useful information. The window for taking the survey will be open until Friday, May 9. Thank you in advance for taking a few minutes to share your thoughts: HYPERLINK "https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/XZZMN53" https:// www.surveymonkey.com/s/XZZMN53 Next week, we will be hosting our Spring Book Fair in the 3rd grade pod. Throughout the week, students and parents will have numerous opportunities to visit the Book Fair and purchase their summer reading materials. Finally, on Friday, May 2nd Canyon View will be hosting our Spring-A-Thing (carnival) out on the big eld from 4-8PM. Throughout next week, the FFO will be sending out important reminders to our families and we hope that you will join us in the festivities! In honor of our Spring Book Fairs esta theme, we will have a special piata on display for our students. You wont want to miss this! Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Rob Henikman Principal

Important message for the Parents of 5th Grade Students:

This is a reminder that Arizona law requires that all incoming 6th grade students have proof of the following vaccinations by the first day of school for the 2014-2015 School Year: 1. Tdap 1 dose is required when 5 years has passed since the last Tetanus shot and the student is at least 11 years old. 2. Meningococcal 1 dose is required for all incoming 6th graders, 11 years and older. A reminder of immunization needs for fifth graders will be sent out with your childs final report card in late May. If you have any questions about the vaccination requirements please contact the CV Health Office @ 209-7704. If your child receives these immunizations before the end of the current school year, please bring in the documentation to the health office at Canyon View so that we may update our records. If your child receives these immunizations over the summer, they may be turned in to Esperero Canyon Middle School front office, faxed to 209-8170 or emailed to vpetersen@cfsd16.org. Many thanks, Vivien Petersen, RN ECMS and Canyon View School Nurse 209-8104 Anne-Marie Huffman Canyon View Health Assistant 209-7704
