An expert expedition team has just arrived back from an excruciating hike up MountEverest. The expedition team started out with 8 hikers, and returned with only 3 hikers (meaning,5 died on the hike). You have been granted access to their press conference, and you have achance to interview the team. The catch: there will be 11 other journalist at the press conference,so the team will more than likely only respond to journalist with the best questions.Your group’s task is as follows:-Develop at least 10 open- ended questions to ask the team about their hike
o
Ask about food, clothing, preparation, conditions, death of the other hikers, team leader, camps along the way, the hike down the mountain, etc.
o
MAKE SURE THE MAJORITY OF YOUR QUESTIONS ARE OPEN-ENDED!-When you have finished, find another group and pose your questions to them.-You will then answer the other group’s questions.
o
You will need to make up names for all the hikers, have fun with that
o
Be sure to take down QUOTES
o
You will need to be CREATIVE and fabricate GOOD answers-When you have finished interviewing, write a news story about the journey.
o
BE CREATIVE
o
Include direct quotes, partial quotes, and paraphrasing
o
Include when, where, how, why, who, what in your LEAD
o
Have at least 3 body paragraphs
o
Have a strong conclusion paragraphI’ve included brief facts (from Wikipedia.org. Goes against all I’ve told you, but for time’s sake,it was convenient ) about Mount Everest in case you’re unfamiliar with the mountain:
-
is the highest mountain onEarth, and the highest point on the Earth'scrust,as measured by the height abovesea level of itssummit, 8,848 metres (29,029 ft). The mountain, which is part of theHimalaya range inAsia, is located on the border   between Sagarmatha Zone, Nepal, and Tibet, China.
-
Climbers are a significant source of  touristrevenue for Nepal, whose government also requires all prospective climbers to obtain an expensive permit, costing up toUS$25,000 per person. Everest has claimed 210 lives, including eight who perishedduring a 1996 storm high on the mountain. Conditions are so difficult in the deathzonethat most corpses have been left where they fell. Some of them are visible fromstandard climbing routes.
-
Mt. Everest has two main climbing routes, the southeast ridge from Nepal and the northeast ridge from Tibet, as well as many other less frequently climbed routes. Of  the two main routes, the southeast ridge is technically easier and is the morefrequently-used route.

Most attempts are made during May before the summer monsoonseason. As themonsoon season approaches, a change in the jet stream at this time pushes it northward, thereby reducing the average wind speeds high on the mountain. Whileattempts are sometimes made after the monsoons in September and October, whenthe jet stream is again temporarily pushed northward, the additional snow deposited by the monsoons and the less stable weather patterns (tail end of the monsoon) makesclimbing extremely difficult.-During the 1996 climbing season, fifteen people died trying to come down from thesummit, making it the deadliest single year in Everest history. Eight of them died on
