Mission of the North Iowa SPIN Race Team and

Mason City MultiSport

The purpose of the North Iowa SPIN Race Team (NI SPIN) and Mason City MultiSport (MC2)is to promote good health, friendships and safety while offering competitive cycling to all agesand skill levels in North Iowa. The North Iowa SPIN/MC2 Race Team is committed toexcellence in athletics at all levels with a life-long participation in the sport. The goal is to promote a positive image of cycling and related multisports to all those who interact with us.The team is focused on creating an environment where athletes can develop their own skills andabilities.

Sponsors invest money to promote their businesses and the sport of bicycle and multisportracing. By signing this contract you agree to patronize the sponsors and promote the sportof bicycle racing and multisports.By submitting this Athlete Agreement, you must agree to and understand the following:

* You have to WANT to be on the team and compete in competitive events of your choice* Join the North Iowa Touring Club (

Annual Membership: $15/$20)

and the North Iowa SPIN RaceTeam/MC2

(Annual Membership: $15)

by completing a NITC membership application and thisAthlete Agreement.* Purchase a current team kit and wear the kit during all organized rides and races in which you participate. Riders will only compete for NI SPIN/MC2 unless given an exemption by the team president for a specific race or event. Riders may not ride on behalf of any other team unlessexempted.

Riders may petition the team president in writing for release from their contract with NI SPIN/MC2. Decision on whether to release a rider will be made within 72 hours of receiving the petition. Riders whoare released from the team before December 31, 2008, will forfeit all earned team benefits.

* Maintain an annual racing license with a sanctioned organization.* Volunteer for locally organized events.* Wear a helmet whenever on a bike, with or without the team, while out of doors* Obey all traffic rules and regulations. Don’t provoke or react to motorists. Ride Safely.*

Competive racing and training is potentially dangerous

. You may be seriously injured or killed while training or racing. Nationally and locally, riders are seriously injured and killedeach year. The team will take reasonable efforts to minimize risk, but it is

impossible toeliminate all risk

.* Sponsors and NI SPIN/MC2 may use your photo or video images of you for publicity andmarketing without compensation, and you agree to cooperate with all publicity and marketingefforts.* Participate on a regular basis in NI SPIN/MC2 events, races, training events and meetings.Any NI SPIN/MC2 member who violates any of these terms is subject to suspension or expulsion from the team without warning, and will forfeit all team benefits earned. The teamofficers, recognized by USA Cycling or related , will make decisions as to suspensions and
