++++PRESS RELEASE++++
MONTH OF PERFORMANCE ART BERLIN MAY > MONTH MAY BERLIN OF ART PERFORMANCE > PERFORMANCE ART MAY, PERFORMANCE ART BERLIN>DAMMIT!Whichever way you look at it, there will be a lot of performance art in Berlin this May, as MPA-B comes back with yet another rapturous edition, bringing you the finest and weirdest in contemporary and independent performance art practices in the city.More than 80 art projects involving over 100 global artists in 18 venues across the city in fact, and a central hub in the brand new Ding Dong Dom on the site of the former Bar25. May: the whole month, all 31 days will see the city swarming with performance artists and their trade – site specific, durational (some performances last days!), interactive happenings, exhibitions, talks, screenings and parties. Think Venice Biennale, but just a solid month for performance art (without the gondolas). Challenging, thought provoking, (and often just plain odd) this unique platform puts the life back into performance art.1

This year the MPA-B team are helping put a new space on the map – the Ding Dong Dom – a new and temporary theatre in Holzmarkt (former Bar 25 location) which will be their HQ – a buzzing MPA-B HUB with live performances every day, a meeting point and information centre for audience and artists, for research, discussions and, of course, celebrations.MPA-B is an open platform, not a festival – it has neither an artistic director, nor an annual theme (or any government funding), instead its Berlin-based core of co-labourers have a concept: the promotion and development of independent, contemporary and experimental Performance Art in whatever shape, style or form it may take. As well as the local talent, artists from 45 countries will descend upon Berlin – “Performing the Revolution” have just spent two months in Mayden square, Kiev during the revolution. Hotel Obscura will occupy 4 hotel rooms for 48hours offering “experimental intimacy” and a world wide Performance Art auction will sell live art to the highest bidder, to mention just a few actions. Finally on the 31st there is the Closing Party based on the seven deadly sins with
