One of the background factors decision of parents to send their children from the junior high level to the level of high school or equivalent educational background which is never taken by parents as well as the level of parental income. Parents with higher educational backgrounds will certainly have a more positive view of the importance of education for children, especially if backed up with high income parents. It is certainly different from the parents who have the educational background and low income, they will assume that formal education is not very important for the future of children coupled with the high cost of education that parents would be more reluctant to send their children to the high school level. This study aims to describe the relationship of education and income levels of farmers horticulture to the decision to send children from the junior high level to high school level. Based on this research purpose, shaped correlational research with quantitative approach, total population of 44 heads of families who are in the village of the District Selorejo Dau Malang. The analysis used a single tabulation, cross-tabulation and chi-square analysis. The results of chi-square analysis showed that there is a relationship between the level of parental education on decision making parents send children of junior high level to high school level, whereas for the income level of parents there is no relationship with the parent's decision to send a child of junior high level to high school level. The results of this study can be used as a consideration of the local government to be able to increase community participation in education by extending education access to all areas in Malang and conduct counseling on the importance of formal education for children, in addition it is expected this research can be used as the basis for similar research in other areas
