Absentee Ballots are available in the Humboldt County Auditors Ofce for the Primary
Election on Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Anyone wishing to vote an absentee ballot may do
this at the Auditors Ofce from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through June 2, 2014, this includes
being open on Saturday May 24, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 31,
2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Absentee voting can also be done by mail by request-
ing an ofcial absentee ballot request form from the Humboldt County Auditors Ofce, by
downloading the form from the Secretary of States website at www.sos.state.ia.us, or by
submitting your absentee request on a 3 x 5 piece of paper that contains the following
information:
Your date of birth
Your full name and complete address, including city, state and zip code
Address the ballot should be mailed to, if different from your home address
Your political party, either Republican or Democrat
The date of the election or the name of the election (6/3/2014, Primary Election)
Your original signature and date of signing
The absentee ballot request form must be returned to the Humboldt County Auditors Of-
ce no later than May 30, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. No ballots will be mailed after this date. Your
voted ballot must be postmarked by June 2, 2014, or you may deliver the ballot to our of-
ce before 9:00 p.m. on June 3, 2014.

AGAIN THIS YEAR: Stickers are available at City Hall for the pick up of appliances, TVs, and other
electronic equipment at a cost of $5.00 each.
COLLECTION SCHEDULE: Items to be collected should be placed by the curb no later than 6:00
a.m., Monday, May 5, 2014, even if your normal collection day is other than Monday.
PREPARATION OF ITEMS FOR COLLECTION: A one truckload limit per residence will be observed.
All appropriate items will be collected by Friday, May 9, 2014.
ITEMS NOT TO BE COLLECTED: Any item or items that can be placed in a blue or yellow
city garbage bag, waste oil, wire, tires, batteries, items that contain Freon, paint, shingles,
construction and demolition materials, and hazardous waste. These items will be left at the
curb to be disposed of properly. Sanitation bags will be collected as usual.
No commercial collection is provided. This service is for City of Humboldt residents only. The
City shall not be responsible for the collection of items left by the curb, which are not intended
for collection. Your cooperation is necessary to ensure that this remains a cost effective and
available service in the future. People are encouraged to ask property owners permission prior
to removing items intended for collection.
The City reserves the right to reject all items if the above guidelines are not followed.
The landll in Fort Dodge offers one free visit each year to each residence. No pass is needed.
