Welcome to the latest edition of Vatika now! Annual Round up 2007-2008It gives us great pleasure to present the 1st edition of Vatika Now for the year 2008- 2009. Thefinancial year 2007 has indeed been a momentous one for us with all round growth. The present yearpromises to be equally rewarding, where several of our ongoing initiatives shall bear fruit.We would like to share with you an update on the group's development and achievements. We shallalso highlight our growth plan for the present financial year - 2008-2009."An year of all round growth."In order to give a thrust to its growth plans the company associated itself with Wachovia Bank, BaerCapital and Goldman Sachs for financial participation in the company. The approximately 225 millionUSD in financial infusion shall provide a strong investment base for the ongoing projects and newinitiatives. The company added 171 members to team Vatika bringing its total strength to961members.It is indeed a big feather in our cap that we are the first developers to launch an integrated townshipin Gurgaon's new Master plan i.e. Vatika India Next. Spread across over approximately 650 acres insector 82, 82 A , 83 and 85 the India Next township shall be a new age development incorporating thebest in international planning standard. The integrated township shall comprise of approximately 10million sq ft of group housing (4500 apartments, 5million sq ft of commercial & retail space andapproximately 4500 plots). At Vatika Infotech City Jaipur, located on Ajmer Expressway, the development work gathered pace.While the phase I neared completion the approvals process and Master Planning for Phase II gotcompleted and the work in the second phase is now scheduled for commencement. The year 2007 -2008 also witnessed the launch of 180 acres integrated township at Sector 23, Ambala. The project isnamed Vatika City Central on account of its central location.The year 2007 - 2008 saw the commencement of handing over of Vatika City, Gurgaon where 225apartments were handed over to owners. We undertook construction of approximately 2.5 million sqft of new commercial / IT parks projects in the NCR (Gurgaon) which includes Vatika City Point(Gurgaon), Vatika Business Park (Sohna Road) and Vatika Mindscape (Faridabad).The group has announced three new ventures and has initiated two business parks at Faridabad andGurgaon respectively spanning a total area of 2 million sq. ft . The other significant developments of this year were the launch of Professional Point and Vatika City Point.The major milestone for 2007-2008 was the inauguration of Westin Sohna - Gurgaon Resort & Spa atSohna. Having emerged as an immensely popular destination for international and domestic pleasuretravellers and corporate conventions, the spa is widely rated as one of the finest in the country.Construction work on the Westin Hotel Gurgaon at Iffco Chowk gathered momentum and this 330room property is expected to be operational by 2009, as scheduled. After the success of the Fox andCoriander Leaf and the launch of 56 – the Italian Adventure, the hospitality division commenceddevelopment work for 2 new concept restaurants in Gurgaon : Jing – the Oriental Chinese &Chemistry – interaction, dining, spaces.The Vatika Business Center division gained further strength as it has been recognized as one of themarket leaders of the business on account of its immensely successful operations and businesscenters at Gurgaon, Hyderabad & Pune where we have 1000 work stations and the best of Fortune500 companies as our clients.
