Tubilid: Title #1: Drainage System Facilities in General Santos City

The proposed paper should include but not limited only to the evaluation of the existing drainage system and facilities of General Santos City. A rigor study must evaluate the existing situation of the facilities in the city but at the same time should propose a model for drainage system and facilities that will include the following: 1. Existing Drainage System Existing drainage system component pipes, structures, and appurtenances within the project limits which may be retained as elements of an improved system provided: They are in sound structural condition. Easements exist or are dedicated to allow operation and maintenance 2. System Types and Applications Where feasible, the researcher shall give design criteria and conditions for open systems and enclosed systems: Open Systems: open systems consisting of open or engineered channels Enclosed Systems: Enclosed systems consisting of underground pipes, culverts, and similar underground structures shall be used to convey stormwater at all locations. 3. HYDROLOGY Hydrologic parameters to be used for computations involving runoff mass and peak rates to be accommodated by the storm drainage system. The methods to be used for calculating runoff mass, rainfall intensity and peak rates that are intended for the design of drainage systems. 4. HYDRAULICS This will include hydraulic calculations for pipes, culverts, and open channels

5. INLETS, MANHOLES AND JUNCTION BOXES It will include the design of inlets, manholes, and junction boxes. 6. NATURAL STREAMS

The researcher will set forth requirements for the protection of natural streams as a
conveyance for drained-water. When natural streams are not preserved, he shall discuss how the drainage will be handled through systems designed.

7. STORMWATER DETENTION AND RETENTION

The researcher identifies the requirements and design of drainage water detention and retention facilities .

8. PLAN REQUIREMENTS
Based on the results of the study, the researcher will prepare the plans for drainage system and facilities .for the City of General Santos.
