The word Pranayam consists of two parts1. Prana2. AyamPrana means energy or vital air (Pran Vayu).Ayam means stretch, extension, regulation,prolongation & control.When the self energizing force embracesthe body with extension, expansion & controlof Pran Vayu; it is Pranayam.
