What is Staging?
Staging describes the extent orseverity of an individual’s cancer
It is base on the extent of theoriginal (primary) tumor and theextent of spread in the body.
Staging is important:
Staging helps the doctor plan a person’streatment.
 The stage can be used to estimate theperson’s prognosis (likely outcome orcourse of the disease).
Knowing the stage is important inidentifying clinical trials (researchstudies) that may be suitable for aparticular patient.
