As we enter this incredibly hectic time of year entertaining, shoppingand generally spending more time with family and friends, many of ustend to loose sight of what is really important to us. It sometimesappears as if everyone else needs’ come before our own. What a wonderful time to really begin to define our priorities. After all2008 is right around the corner. For example, what do you consider tobe your life’s work? What do you want from your career or family life?Once you have a clear picture of what is important to you, you canbetter focus on your career and personal priorities. Your values and priorities may change over the course of your lifetime, but periodically defining and writing down your life values, goals, andpriorities will help to keep you focused and aligned. Some questions to ask yourself; who and what are most important tome, what do I want out of life, how would I live if money were not anissue, what kind of parent do I want to be, what do I want to contributeand accomplish at work and finally, what balance do I want betweenmy work and home life? And consider discussing your values and priorities with family, friends, and work colleagues, they might surprise you by confirming a hunch oreven pointing out a blind spot.Regards, Tyra
