The most common and most known form of corrosion, or better the results of acorrosion process, is the Red Rust that affect iron (in pictures below you can seesome good examples of rust on steel).All metals, each with different corrosion velocity and morphology of attack, corrodeand develop oxides of different colors.Copper for example develops the typical Green oxides, Silver a black patina of oxides( the process of Corrosion on Silver is called also tarnishing).
