McD's - don't listen to the haters. I'm still pissed McD's kicked the double cheeseburger off the dollar menu and have the balls to charge the what used to be the same price for less food. Cheap tactic. But... I'm not the CEO... so. But, I do eat both the McDouble and double cheeseburger. I like McD's burgers... I used to eat burgrers with meat and cheese only. Now, I eat it the way McD's makes them... not that McD's had anything to do with that... just thought I'd say it.

McD's is a business and sells a product. If people don't like it, they don't have to eat there. I don't care how many kids people have - or the hours someone works. There is still time to make a decent home cooked meal. I can make healthy home cooked meals at home for the same price as the double cheeseburger. Seriously... I'd like to see people stop complaining about how 'unhealthy' McD's food is. I learned someone in my weight training class... "There's no such thing as a bad food - just a bad lifestyle." I have a brother who gets 5 McDoubles every time he goes there... and he is not fat - tall and skinny. I get 2-3 every time I go - and fries. It's your lifestyle that counts. If you stuff your face with more food than your lifestyle can burn off... well - that's your fault, not the food or the food makers'. And don't tell me that you get McDonald's because it's the only thing you can afford. As I said, there are healthy foods that are really cheap. You just have to know where to look.

You know why? or part of the reason why "women" sometimes can no longer cook meals all the time? because "we" women have to work now and have to take care of the kids as well as "pick he children up from daycare" lol um its no longer the fifties where the man went to work and the woman took care of the family. Thats a lot to do with it. Why dont the men cook? lol or pick the kids up? dont blame the woman for this and its not just a north american problem it the economy we can no longer make ends meet withou two parents working and I know a lot of single parents and people who work two jobs to make ends meet so............

What's important to remember is that fast food chains serve a purpose..to provide a meal when we don't have time to sit down and prepare a healthy meal ourselves. I am glad they provide a nutrician guide so I can make the decision myself and decide to stay home a cook a meal instead of eat out. If we have to blame anyone its the structure of our society, why is it that we don't have time to cook proper meals and sit down and eat as a family unit. Why is it that women are rushing home from work grabbing take out and picking up the kids late from daycare? I don't like how McDonalds used advertising to suck children in at a young age only later to create a society who trys to recapture childhood memories of a night out with mom and dad at MDs. That is wrong...its like advertising cigarettes to teenagers. But I think these large chains are starting to take more responsibility for the effects they have on society. What I am mostly concerned with is the fact that these fast chain restaurants are doing so well...what does that say about us a society...why do we not have time to properly prepare a nutritional meal ourselves? I think this is a north american problem..?!

if we wanted to make "sensible decisions" as the PDF states here, we wouldn't eat McD's at all >_>

What are the nutritional values for the McSkillet Burrito?

Anyone who assumes McDonalds is a "healthy" option for dinner is an imbecile --- but that doesn't make it McDonalds fault. It is what it is. And that is fast, delicious, and easily accessible. And, what's more, they do provide this information whereas many other food chains do not (particularly dine-in only chains). So stop looking for someone to blame for your own idiocy. Do the research, determine your own priorities, and act on it. Everything has it's place --- even fast food --- but we all have to make those decisions for ourselves and take responsibility for our own actions.

Personally, there will always be room in my life for the occasional stop at McDonalds. It can be a very special break, one that reminds me of so many special outings as a child, whether they were day trips to NYC (where food can be outrageously expensive), rewards after a particularly good T-ball game (or a consolation prize after a lousy one), or just a special afternoon with my cousins and grandparents. They do provide a real service. And even without all that wonderful gestalt, sometimes it's just so great to be able to go get a McGriddle on the way to work. It can make the morning special, if you let it. You just can't do it every day.
