What was Bill C-61?
Bill C-61 aimed to:
•Amend the
Copyright Act
in order to implement the World IntellectualProperty Organization Copyright Treaty (WCT) and Performances andPhonograms Treaty (WPPT) (TPMs, distribution right, making availableright)•Create exceptions for certain uses of copyright material for privatepurposes•Create exceptions for Internet Service Providers (ISPs), and•Permit certain uses for educational and research purpose.
