Deu 12:20Then Jehovah your God shall enlarge your border, as He has promised
you, and you shall say, I will eat flesh, because your soul desires to eat flesh, you
may eat flesh according to all the desire of your soul.
Deu 12:20-21

These rules were still to remain in force, even when God should extend the borders of
the land in accordance with His promise. This extension relates partly to the gradual
but complete extermination of the Canaanites (Deu_7:22, comp. withExo_23 : 27 -3 3),
and partly to the extension of the territory of the Israelites beyond the limits of
Canaan Proper, in accordance with the divine promise inGe n_1 5 :1 8. The words “as
He hath spoken to thee” refer primarily toExo_2 3 :2 7 -33. (OnDe u_1 2 :2 0, see

Deu_12:15). - In Deu_12:21, “if the place...be too far from thee,” supplies the reason
for the repeal of the law inL e v_1 7 :3, which restricted all slaughtering to the place of
the sanctuary. The words “kill...as I have commanded thee” refer back to
Deu_12:15.``
DO NOT DO AS THE HEATHEN DO
Deu 12:29When Jehovah your God shall cut off the nations from before you, where
you are going in to possess them, and you shall possess them, and shall live in
their land,
Deu 12:30take heed to yourself that you not be snared to follow them after they
have been destroyed before you; and that you not inquire after their gods,
saying, How did these nations serve their gods? And I shall do so, even I.
Deu 12:31You shall not do so to Jehovah your God; for everything hateful to
Jehovah, which He detests, they have done to their gods. For they have even
burned their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods.
Deu 12:32All the things that I command you, take heed to do them and you shall
not add to it, nor take away from it.
LEARN NOT THE WAY OF THE HEATHEN
Jer 10:2Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the
signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
Lev 18:3After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the
doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in
their ordinances.
Lev 18:4Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: Iam the LORD
your God.
Lev 18:5Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live
in them: Iam the LORD.
Deu 12:30Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be
destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these
nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.
Deu 12:31Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD,
which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they
have burnt in the fire to their gods.
Deu 12:32What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor
diminish from it.
Deut 12:20-15:6

Deut 12:20-15:6
Jer 23:9
Psalm 130
Matt 7:15-27

Deu 18:9When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not
learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
Eze 20:31For when ye offer your gifts, when ye make your sons to pass through the fire, ye
pollute yourselves with all your idols, even unto this day: and shall I be enquired of by you, O
house of Israel? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you.
Eze 20:32And that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, that ye say, We will be as the
heathen, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.
Eze 20:33As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm,
and with fury poured out, will I rule over you:
Eze 20:34And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries
wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury
poured out.
Eph 4:17This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other
Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
Eph 4:18Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the
ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
NOT ADDING TO OR TAKING AWAY
++++++++++++++++ Hoole 4:13 thou shalt not abandon the commandments of the Lord, but
shalt guard that which thou hast received, neither adding thereto nor taking therefrom;
We are not to follow prophets who teach that we aren't to keep Torah
Deu 13:1If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams rises among you, and gives you a sign
or a wonder,
Deu 13:2and the sign or the wonder which he spoke to you occurs, saying, Let us go
after other gods which you have not known, and let us serve them,
Deu 13:3you shall not listen to the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of
dreams. For Jehovah your Godis testing you, to know if you love Jehovah your
God with all your heart and with all your soul.
Leaving the commandments is linked to worshiping other gods which we have not known.
Deu 11:28and a curse if you will not hear the commandments of Jehovah your God,
but will turn aside out of the way which I command you today, to go after other
gods which you have not known.
Isa 8:20To the Law and to the Testimony! If they do not speak according to this
Word, it is because there is no dawn to them!
Forsaking the Torah = following other gods is further supported by the next verse in Deu 13
Deu 13:4You shall walk after Jehovah your God, and you shall fear Him. And you
shall keep His commandments, and you shall hear His voice, and you shall serve
Him, and you shall cleave to Him.
Deu 13:5And that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall die, because he has

spokenap os tas y against Jehovah your God, who is bringing you out of the land of Egypt, and has redeemed you out of the house of slaves, to thrust you out of the way in which Jehovah your God has commanded you to walk. And you shall put away evil from among you.
