Long Envelope Dog CardMake a card with its own envelope!
By Mary Lecuyer, Stampin Up Demonstrator(mklecuyer@hotmail.com) July 2009Dogg And Pony Show
(I CASED this card from another Stampin Up demonstrator, but don’t know who, so if anyone can provide that info, please email me so I can credit this person)
Long white business envelope 4 ¼ x 9½” (you may have these alreadyaround the house!)
Your choice of a dog stamp (oneapprox. 2” and a small one) andgreeting(s) (I used Hearts In Touchdog stamp-bone & birthday greetingsare by Stampin Up)
Your choice of coordinating coloredinkpads to stamp pictures & greetings(I used Stampin Up Basic Black andChocolate Chip inkpads)
Your choice of coordinating cardstock(I used Stampin Up’s Kraft cardstockand Urban Oasis designer paper)
White cardstock for outside pictureand inside card picture (I usedStampin Up Glossy White cardstock)
Eyelet border punch (Stampin Up)
Ribbon (Paper Wishes dog ribbon set)
Small flower with rhinestoneembellishment (optional)
Fold in each side of theenvelope so they meet in the middle(like a gate card). With envelope frontfacing down so flap is facing up butnot opened, cut two 1 ½” long slitsdown the fold from each side of theenvelope, so there is approx. 4 ½”space between the cuts. This willallow you to lift up the flap to insertthe card you will be making later.Glue down the right and left flaps of the envelope so only the middle flapcan be lifted up, which is where thecard will be inserted.
Cut two pieces 2” wide x 3 ¾”long of designer paper. Adhere toeach side of flap of envelope while
envelope is closed so the ends meet inthe middle.
Cut one pieces of Kraftcoordinating colored cardstock 2 1/4 x2 1/4” and a 2 x 2” piece of whitecardstock. Stamp dog picture inbrown ink on 2 x 2” white and adhereto 2 1/4 x 2 1/4” Kraft cardstock.Adhere rhinestone flower on picturewith dimensional popup glue dot. There are various ways you can gluethe picture shown in these pictures.
Then take this picture andadhere only the left side of it to theleft side of the gated envelope side.Do not adhere the right sides at all sothe right side flap can be opened up. There are various ways you can gluethe picture on the flap, so experimentto see which one you like beforeattaching it.
Now open up right and left sidesof the envelope and stamp yourchosen greeting with black ink on theleft center side of the envelope belowthe flap. Then stamp the small picture(I used a small bone) on both theinside of the envelope around yourgreeting, as well as under the flap.
