OPENING CREDITS
Projector sounds are heard against the old black and white footage of Number 11 playing Youth Football. Parents litter the sidelines cheeringtheir pixie-sized kids.Number 11 drops back to pass and can barely grip the ball with hissmall hands. He decides to run it himself.Montage of high school footage. Cheerleaders rally, Coaches barktheir orders but there is no sound. Number 11 is running with the ball,cutting, faking and dodging defenders. He outruns them all to theendzone. Fans, parents, teachers and teammates cheer and rush thefield.Fade out from the black and white old movie projector to the brightcolors and colossal sound of ...
EXT. WARRIOR STADIUM - NIGHTTHUD
! Loud bone crunching, brain loosening collisions among severaltitan football players. A professional football game is in progress. Thenoise is now is deafening.
BLIMP VIEW
Pull back to see the Huge Stadium in Los Angeles area and theexpansive view to the beaches, the mountains and Downtown L.A. Jetsare seen flying in the distance.
FIELD VIEW
Game in progress. Los Angeles Warriors play the Chicago Bears.Number 11 is leading his team down the field passing to variousreceivers.Bigger, faster and longer hair. Number 11 is tall, chiseled, cocky,arrogant and takes command on the field.A pass from JAKE MARTIN, Number 11 to LANCE COLEMAN, number 87,he's the fastest Black player on the field. Jake stands next to a pile of bodies, one man holds a hand up for help. Jake is smooth as he stepsover the bodies with his 6 foot frame and athletic body.
INT. CONTROL BOOTH
In the control booth, a human fishbowl, stands three physicallysubstantial masculine men outfitted with full headsets. They call the
 
play-by-play and color commentary for the network. There is palpablecamaraderie among these men, two whom are former professionalfootball players. TELEVISION ANNOUNCER PATMartin is really coming into his own as adominant quarterback in the NFL.ANNOUNCER FRED The Los Angeles Warriors could have a shot atthe title with Number 11.COMMENTATOR TERRYHe has the field confidence of Joe Montana, theplayful attitude of a Joe Namath, scramblingtactics of Fran Tarkington, and the moves of arunning back.PATSome pretty impressive company.
INTERCUT FOOTBALL FIELD AND ANNOUNCER CONTROL BOOTH
Another nice pass by Number 11 to his receiver Coleman. Jake is onthe ground after a late hit. Fans boo. A few players come quickly to hisside to help him up.PATHall of Fame potential.Off microphone.PATBigger than life, arrogant, cocksure with thevainness of a movie star.
