Background & Objectives
This research, commissioned by the Association of Government Accountants andconducted by Harris Interactive, was conducted to serve as a benchmark of attitudesand opinions among the general public toward governments’ financial managementand perceived levels of accountability to the public at all levels.
Objectives
Measure broad perceptions of importance and satisfaction with regard to receivingfinancial management information from government (local, state, federal)
Assess the relative importance and performance by government on specific elementsof financial management delivery to the public
Determine which sources of information Americans rely on for governments’ financialmanagement information (local, state, federal) and how this information is used by thepublic.
