Breville recommends safety first
Remove any promotional stickers or labels beforeusing the ikon Grill for the first time.Do not place the ikon Grill near the edge of a benchor table during operation.Ensure that the surface islevel,clean and free of water,etc.Do not place the ikon Grill on or near a hot gas orelectric burner,or where it could touch a heatedoven.Use the ikon Grill well away from walls.Provide adequate space above and on all sides ofair circulation around the ikon Grill.Do not place the ikon Grill on any surface that maybe affected by heat.The use of a heat resistantmat is recommended on these surfaces. Always ensure that the ikon Grill is properlyassembled before first use.Do not touch hot surfaces.Use the handles to liftand open the top plate.Take care when using the Adjustable Grilling Height Control. Allow the grill to cool down before releasing theremovable plates.Do not release the removableplates while the grill is being operated. Always switch off the grill at the power outletbefore releasing the removable plates.Do not leave the ikon Grill unattended when in use.Do not place anything on top of the ikon Grill whenthe lid is closed,when in use and when stored. Always switch the ikon Grill off at the power outlet,then unplug and allow to cool ,if appliance is notin use,before cleaning,before attempting to movethe appliance,disassembling,assembling andwhen storing the appliance.Keep the exterior housing and the non-stick cooking plates clean.Follow the cleaninginstructions provided in this book.The appliance is not intended to be operated bymeans of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS
To protect against electric shock,do not immersecord,plug or appliance in water or any other liquid.Do not let the cord hang over the edge of table orcounter or touch hot surfaces,or become knotted. Young children should be supervised to ensure thatthey do not play with the appliance.It is recommended to inspect the applianceregularly.Do not use the appliance if the powersupply cord,plug or appliance becomes damagedor malfunctions in any way.Return the entireappliance to the nearest authorized Breville ServiceCenter for examination and/or repair. Any maintenance other than cleaning should beperformed at an authorized Breville Service Center.This appliance is for household use only.Do not usethis appliance for anything other than its intendeduse/ Do not use in moving vehicles or boats.Do notuse outdoors.Do not use harsh abrasives,caustic cleaners oroven cleaners when cleaning this appliance.The installation of a residual current device (safetyswitch) is recommended to provide additionalsafety protection when using electrical appliances.It is advisable that a safety switch with a ratedresidual operating current not exceeding 30mA be installed in the electrical circuit supplyingthe appliance.See your electrician forprofessional advice.Close Supervision is necessary when this applianceis used by or near children.Extreme caution must be used when moving anappliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.The use of accessory attachments notrecommended by the manufacturer may causeinjuries.For safety reasons it is recommended you plugyour Breville appliance directly into the poweroutlet.DO NOT use in conjunction with a powerstrip or extension cord. Your grill has a short cord as a safety precautionto prevent perosnal injury or property damageresulting from pulling,tripping or becomingentangled with the cord.If you must use a longer power cord or anextension cord are available and may be used ifcare is exercised in their use.
Note
If an extension cord is used:1.The marked electrical rating of the cord orextension cord should be at least as great as theelectrical rating of the appliance.2.If the appliance is of the grounded type,theextension cord should be a grounding 3-wirecord,and3.The longer cord should be arranged so that it willnot drape over the countertop or table top whereit can be pulled on by children or tripped overunintentionally.
